History of KS Systems in a nutshell

KS Systems is young. We have been around since 2021, but we do have quite a history. Take a bird's eye view of our history.

In 1975, Piet Noordzij founded Kontinex Staal (KS), a trading company in steel profiles in Zwijndrecht. At the start, greenhouse construction in nearby Westland was KS's main target market. The practical application of roll formed profiles quickly became popular and the bodywork and construction markets opened up.

As the market developed, the demand for more complex profiles continued to increase. In 1995, KS built a new plant with modern machinery in Moerdijk. The company was then called KS Profile. Later, after 2000, international ambitions grew. The number of customers in Europe increased significantly and in 2005 KS Profil GmbH was founded in Wuppertal, Germany.

The focus was increasingly on providing added value with profiles. KS Profile unburdened customers by offering extra services in addition to supplying profiles. For founder and director Piet Noordzij, in 2009 it was time to share leadership of the company with his son Leendert Noordzij.

The importance of Research & Development increased and the company worked hard on innovative solutions. KS increasingly made a name for itself as a customer-oriented all-rounder with profiles. In order to provide customers with the best possible service, added materials to the profiles such as connectors, nuts and bolts, base plates and complete staircases were increasingly supplied.

Production records were and are broken again and again. To allow the organization to grow optimally, specialization is chosen and in 2021 the various units become independent. KS will remain a family-owned company, and under the umbrella KS Industries, several private companies, including KS Systems, will spread their wings.
